All-new 2020 Hyundai i20 premium hatchback: India-spec version REVEALED, bookings open tomorrow
The India-spec all-new 2020 Hyundai i20 premium hatchback has just been revealed through studio images. Bookings for the premium hatchback will open tomorrow, and the booking amount is pegged at Rs. 21,000. Click here to book the new i20 online. The new i20 can also be booked across all Hyundai’s dealerships in India. The car will be launched on the 5th of November 2020. The all-new Hyundai i20 will take on the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Tata Altroz and Honda Jazz in India’s premium hatchback segment.
There will be three engines on offer: 2 in petrol and 1 in diesel, and four gearbox options. All engines will be Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms compliant. Notably, the all-new i20 will be the second car in the segment to be sold with a turbo diesel engine option, apart from the Tata Altroz. Other premium hatchbacks such as the Baleno, Glanza and Jazz have now adopted a petrol-only approach. As for pricing, expect the starting price of the new i20 to be pegged at about the Rs. 5.5 lakh mark.
Coming to the engines that will accompany the all-new i20, there’s the 1.2 liter-4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with 82 Bhp-115 Nm, which will be carried over from the outgoing model. On the all-new i20, this engine is likely to be offered with 5 speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox options. The other petrol engine will be the 1 liter-3 cylinder turbocharged unit that’s also seen on the Venue compact SUV. This motor will be offered with 6 speed iMT (semi-automatic) and 7 speed twin clutch automatic gearboxes.

The diesel engine will be the 1.5 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged unit – again borrowed from the Venue. This motor will put out 98.6 Bhp-230 Nm, and will get a 6 speed manual gearbox as standard. The car will be offered in six single tone and two dual tone colours, thus giving buyers a large selection of colours to pick and choose from. The colours that the 2020 Hyundai Elite i20 will be available with are the following,

- Typhoon Silver
- Titan Grey
- Fiery Red
- Starry Night
- Metallic Copper
- Polar White with Black Roof
- Fiery Red with Black Roof
